A free one-day “one-stop” workshop is being offered to Maui residents looking to apply for an affordable condominium home at the new Kamalani neighborhood currently under construction in north Kīhei.
The workshop was developed in response to various conversations with prospective buyers. Organizers say it will enable interested buyers to complete all essential elements of the Kamalani sales application process within a day, including a condensed homebuyer education course, residential loan application, Residential Workforce Housing sales application, and notarized RWH affidavit of eligibility for Kamalani.
“For many first-time homebuyers, the sales process can seem a bit daunting. And, because this first neighborhood in Kamalani is being offered under the County of Maui’s ordinance for affordable housing, there are a few additional steps in the process,” said Steve Baker, Realtor Broker of KW Island Living, project broker for Kamalani.
“This free workshop is designed to help interested buyers complete the sales application process within one day. By the end of the day, if everything is approved, they’d be in a position to select one of the remaining available homes and could be moving in next year,” said Baker.
The one-day Kamalani workshops are being offered on Oct. 1 and 22, 2016. In order to successfully complete the sales application process, participants must:
· attend the workshop together with anyone else with whom they will be sharing ownership of the Kamalani residence;
· bring current pay stubs (for past month) and/or copies of other income sources; 2013, 2014, 2015 W-2 State and Federal income tax returns; current bank statements or brokerage account statements; AND a valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license OR valid State of Hawaiʻi identification card.
A light lunch will be provided.
Advance reservations are required:
