Staff Shortage Disrupts Refuse Pickups in West Maui

Manpower Shortage West Maui.

Due to a staff shortage, residential refuse on a collection route in West Maui was not picked up today.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division reports that all missed pickups are expected to be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017.

Affected areas include: Ainakea Road, Kahoma Street, Nahale Street, Kuʻuipo Street, Aʻa Street, Wahikuli Road, Lokia Street, Aipuni Street, Hoʻoli Street, Kaniau Road, Hanohano Street, as well as Nāpili, Kahana, Kapalua, the Lower Honoapiʻilani Highway and all surrounding streets and roads.

Officials with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and extended their thanks to the community for their understanding and cooperation.
