3-year-old Trucker Dukes in Hospice Care, Join #TruckerToughChallenge for World Cancer Day
Ahead of World Cancer Day, friends of the Dukes ohana have launched a movement. The “Trucker Tough Challenge” challenges you to show your toughest face to spread awareness of cancer and to hopefully put a smile on a young boy’s face.
At 19-months, Trucker Dukes was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. He was first diagnosed with the rare and aggressive cancer in November of 2013. After two years of treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation and surgical tumor removal in his abdomen and brain, Trucker is at home on Maui. Shauna and Joshua Dukes, Trucker’s parents, recently made the difficult decision to bring him home and treat him nutritionally for a better quality of life.
In the video above, Shauna says, “Up until last week he was doing much better but is now again in a lot of pain in his leg and also in his back. Although I have complete faith in all of my studies these last couple of months in natural cancer cures, I still don’t know if it will be enough for our Trucker boy but we hold fast to our faith that God is good and that all of our days are numbered already and that he has a plan for Trucker boys life even if he goes home to heaven early.”
Shauna and Joshua have a message they would like to spread.
“If there’s one thing, I hope it is that you love a little harder… a little better. Go home, stop the craziness in your life and just kiss your loved ones more, tell them you love them more. None of us are promised tomorrow.”

It’s called the #TruckerToughChalllenge and all you have to do is make your best “tough face” and challenge three other friends.
