Outstanding Piano Amateurs Festival Scheduled

A new event will take place Friday through Sunday, Feb. 17 through 19—the first Maui Outstanding Piano Amateurs Festival.

Amateur piano players, including doctors, lawyers, journalists, scientists, engineers and business people will take the stage at the First Maui Outstanding Piano Festival at Wailuku Union Church.

These nonprofessional musicians have proven themselves worthy of great artistic distinction:
Niko Nemoto, Marie Yoshihara, Kahealani Haupu, Peggy King, Norico Fulmer, Ken Winner, Janet Chun and Yuko Ota.

The program will feature the works by Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Mendelsohn, Brahms, Listz, Rachmaninov, Gershwin and many others.
