Maui Matsuri organizers are seeking aspiring performers of all ages to participate in its inaugural Maui Matsuri Variety Show on Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at Binhi At Ani.

Participants must be amateur performers living on Maui, and participate in a dress rehearsal to be scheduled in April.

The event will spotlight singers, dancers, musicians, magicians and other talent—with some aspect of the Japanese and/or Okinawan culture weaved into the performances.

Trophies will be presented to the first-, second- and third-place winners. A “People’s Choice” award will also be presented.

“Maui Matsuri is excited to bring this inaugural event to feature many wonderfully talented people and undiscovered entertainers on Maui,” said event chair Lynn Araki-Regan. “It’s going to be a lot of fun for all involved.”
