Staff Shortage Disrupts Refuse Pickups in Lahaina

Lahaina trash route missed. Maui Now graphic.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to a staff shortage, residential refuse on part of a collection route in Lahaina was not picked up on Friday, March 24, 2017. All missed pickups are expected to be completed on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Affected Areas include: Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, Kahana, Nāpili, Nāpili Park, Hawaiian Homes, and all surrounding streets and roads.

Department officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
