Police Identify Suspect in Armed Robbery at Tokyo Lounge
Maui Police are asking for the public’s help in locating William K. Keliihoomalu IV who authorities have identified as a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at the Tokyo Lounge in Wailuku on Monday night, April 24, 2017.
Keliihoomalu is described as 30 years old, 5’9” tall, about 240 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Police say he also has tribal tattoos that run down both arms and a tattoo across his chest.
Police say Keliihoomalu should be considered armed and dangerous. The public should NOT APPROACH OR FOLLOW or take any other action that could place them in danger.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Keliihoomalu are asked to call Detective Gordon Sagun at (808) 244-6434, the Maui Police Department at (808) 244-6400 or 9-1-1 if it is an emergency.
Background:
Police responded to the incident at around 10 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, at the Tokyo Lounge located 315 Hoʻokahi Street in Wailuku.
Police say two masked males had entered the business and attacked patrons and employees before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police did not specify what type of weapon was used.
Police have since identified one suspect. Both suspects remain at large as the investigation is on-going.
This was the first of two armed robbery incidents reported this week.
A separate incident was reported at 10:34 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at CosmoProf located at 180 East Wākea Ave. In that incident, employees of the business reported being robbed at gunpoint by two hooded males. Police say the males allegedly tied up the employees and took cash and property before fleeing in a truck, which has since been found abandoned. This morning, police issued an update saying the suspects have been identified and detained, however charges were pending at last report.
It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
