Three Suspects Charged in Robbery of Kahului Salon Supply Business
Maui police identified and charged three suspects for their alleged connection to a robbery reported on Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017 at the CosmoProf business in Kahului.
Police say Jennifer Kong, 38, of Wailuku, Noah Mariano, 35, of Kula and Riana Lee, 24, of Makawao were charged on Thursday for the offense of Robbery in the First Degree, respectively.
Bail was set at $250,000 for each suspect. The investigation is on-going.
The incident was the second armed robbery report in Central Maui in as many days. The other was reported on Monday night at the Tokyo Lounge in Wailuku.
Police say the suspects in the Kahului incident were taken into custody on the day that it was reported. Police initially said employees of CosmoProf located at 180 East Wākea Ave, reported being robbed at gunpoint by two hooded males at around 10:34 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
According to police reports, the suspects allegedly tied up the employees and took cash and property before fleeing in a truck, which has since been found abandoned.
The employees did not report any injuries.
CosmoProf is a small business that sells professional salon products and equipment. It is located on East Wākea Avenue near the Hukilike Street intersection, at the Wākea Business Center which also houses a takeout Japanese restaurant, a dry cleaning business a mini market.
