More than $80,000 in eight years.

That’s how much Wailea Resort Association has raised for an important local nonprofit since launching Restaurant Week Wailea, a dining promotion that runs twice a year.

“The Wailea community has been a partner of Maui Food Bank for many years and has also proudly supported the organization with Restaurant Week Wailea since this popular dining promotion began in 2009,” says association general manager Bud Pikrone.

Supporters like Four Seasons Resort Maui have taken part every single year. The resort’s steak & seafood restaurant DUO is offering a three-course prix-fixe menu for $59, which includes choices like Ahi tiradito, steak tartare, Hawaiian Shutome, beef strip loin, and a dessert called Kula Strawberries “Minestrone.”

Executive Chef Craig Dryhurst says DUO is always “popping” during Restaurant Week, and it’s not the only food establishment at Four Seasons offering a special menu.

“We’re in Springtime right now, which is a kind of chef’s favorite time of year, so everything green is in season,” explains Dryhurst. “We’re going to be offering a Spring tasting menu over at our sister restaurant Ferraro’s, the Italian restaurant on the other side of the pool, featuring fresh peas, fava beans, asparagus, duck breast; just a much lighter menu for Springtime.”

DUO joins 20 other participants during Restaurant Week, which runs through Saturday, May 27. Diners can enjoy chef-inspired prix-fixe menus for $29, $39, $49 or $59 per person, depending on the restaurant (not including beverages, tax and gratuity).  Some restaurants also offer wine pairings at special prices to savor with the meals.

Every restaurant donates a portion of each prix-fixe menu sold to Maui Food Bank. Reservations are highly recommended, and those below marked with an asterisk are available to book online through Open Table.
