Victim in Nākālele Crash Identified, Foul Play Ruled Out

Maui police have positively identified the body of a man found within a wrecked vehicle at the bottom of a cliff below Nākālele Point as Justin Sadang, 24, of Lahaina.  Police say the confirmation was made on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

Sadang was reported missing on May 20, 2017, and was last seen leaving his residence in his Toyota 4Runner.

His vehicle was found on May 22, 2017 below the Nākālele lighthouse at the base of a 100-foot cliff.  The discovery was made by an opihi picker who came across the vehicle with a body inside.

Police say the body could not be readily identified at the time.

The official cause of death was not released but foul play has been ruled out.
