The Maui Hemp Institute will host “The Largest Hempy Hour in the Pacific” from June 5-11, 2017 to celebrate Hemp History Week and “Hope for Hemp” in Hawai‘i.

The week-long series of educational community events will also feature hemp food and beverages as they continue to “break ground” on Maui.

This year, Maui Brewing Company will feature another round of Hemp ESB* beer which will be on tap at many Maui restaurants and taverns around the island. *ESB style stands for “extra special bitter.”

There will also be many “Made on Maui” Hemp foods available at certain locations.

The Hempy Hour festivities kick-off on Monday, June 5, at 3 p.m. with the launch of “Hempy Hour” at the Maui Brewing Company tasting room in Kīhei and at select island restaurants and drinking establishments.

On Friday June 9, the celebration continues at the monthly Lahaina Town Party from 5-9 p.m. with educational booths, music and the “Largest Hempy Hour in the Pacific!” with Maui Brewing Hemp ESB beer featured at many Front Street locations.

The following locations on Maui will also have the HempESB on tap:

West Maui: Honu, Down the Hatch, Lahaina Fish Co., Kohola Brewery, The Dirty Monkey, Maui Brewing Co., and Fleetwood’s

South Maui: Maui Brewing Co., Longhi’s, Three’s Bar & Grill, What Ales You, Shearwater Tavern, and Monkeypod

Hemp History Week will feature a national education and event program with over 2,000 participating stores, community events, restaurant, and hemp product sampling. The campaign will also feature a Take Action component, to encourage Congress to change federal policy by passing the Industrial Hemp Farming Act, and allow American farmers to once again grow industrial hemp.
