Maui Crime, June 4–10 : Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 14 burglaries, seven vehicle thefts and 27 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from June 4-10, 2017.

Burglaries were down 19%, with 14 incidents reported over the seven day period, down from the 27 burglaries reported the week before. Vehicle thefts were down 60% from the week before when 13 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins were up 8% from the 25 break-ins reported last week.

Eight of the vehicle break-ins occurred along Hāna Highway between Twin Falls (Mile Marker 2) and Ke’anae Arboretum (Mile Marker 16.5). Four of the break-ins were at Bamboo Forest and three of the Bamboo Forest break-ins occurred between 5:08 and 5:36 p.m.

Of the seven vehicles reported stolen, two have since been recovered.
