Maui Taiko 20th Anniversary Concert, July 2

Maui Taiko’s 20th anniversary concert will take place at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2 p.m.

The group invites residents and guests to celebrate with them and their friends: Uneme Daiko (Koriyama, Japan), Marco Leinhard –Taikoza (New York), Nakayama & Maui Minyo Kai (Maui), and nationally acclaimed, San Jose Taiko. Photo Courtesy

The event will feature live performances from San Jose Taiko, Uneme Daiko (Japan), Marco Lienhard – Taikoza (New York), Maui Minyo Kai and Nakayama Minyo Kai.

Maui Taiko was formed 20 years ago by the descendants of Japanese immigrants in the hopes of perpetuating a centuries-old drumming tradition. The group has blossomed into a performance troupe that entertains thousands of residents and visitors on Maui annually.
