Brush Fire Burns Half-Acre in Lahaina Near Homeless Resource Center

Maui firefighters responded to a brush fire near the Lahaina Aquatic Center on Shaw Street over the weekend.

The incident was reported at 12:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 on a vacant lot near Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center.

The fire burned a half-acre of brush before being brought under control.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was undetermined.

Two companies and a water tanker from the Lahaina fire station responded to the incident.
