Blood Bank of Hawai‘i Announces June Blood Drive
The Blood Bank of Hawai‘i is coming to Maui and they have launched their June blood drive dates, which takes place at the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku. According to the Blood Bank of Hawai‘i, Memorial Day to Labor Day is traditionally a challenging time to get enough donors in the door to meet the blood needs of Hawai‘i’s patients.
The Blood Bank’s June blood drive schedule is as follows:
June 18, 2018
Cameron Center – Auditorium
8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
June 19, 2018
Cameron Center – Auditorium
7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
June 20, 2018
Cameron Center – Auditorium
7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
June 21, 2018
Cameron Center – Auditorium
9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
June 22, 2018
Cameron Center – Auditorium
7:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
The general requirements to be a blood donor are simple:
Be in good health
Be 18 years of age or older (16-17 year old donors with signed Blood Bank of Hawaii parent/legal guardian consent)
Weigh 110 pounds or more (Additional height/weight requirements apply for female donors 16-18 years old)
Bring photo ID with date of birth
To encourage more donors to come out, the Blood Bank has launched a summer promotion. Blood donors, who take the time to save lives between May 25 through September 3, 2018, will be entered to win a weekly giveaway of a $100 Foodland gift card, as well as the grand-prize of a 3-night neighbor island getaway compliments of Castle Resorts & Hotels, including airfare on Hawaiian Airlines and a $250 gift card.
