J. WALTER CAMERON CENTER INSTALLS 2 NEW BOARD MEMBERS

The J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku has announced the selection of two new board members.
The two new members are Pam Farnsworth, an Energy Efficiency Program Engineer with Maui Electric Company, and Wailuku attorney Paul Horikawa. They join Cylde Murashige (chair), Greg Chou (Vice Chair), Neil Nunokawa (Secretary), John Kreag (Treasurer), Virgilio Agcolicol, Gladys Baisa, Hideo Kawahara, Karlynn Kawahara, Priscilla Mikell, Alec McBarnet, Jr., and Teri Freitas Gorman.
“Farnsworth will bring her wealth of knowledge to the Center to support our building energy goals”, said Clyde Murashige, Board Chair. “She truly is committed to our organization and our community. We are so very glad she has chosen to be part of our organization.” The Center is already in the process of an energy efficient photovoltaic project soon to be installed and a Therapy Pool Solar System in partnership with Maui Community College.
“We warmly welcome Paul to our team as our long term Board Member, Larry Ing, retires from his position. Larry has been a part of the Center for more than 30 years and we know that Paul will be an integral part of the Center’s success for many years to come,” said Murashige.
The J. Walter Cameron Center is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization located in Wailuku. Its mission is to provide program and administrative space to nonprofit organizations that supply health, education and human services to Maui residents. The Center was dedicated on April 23, 1973.
The Cameron Center supplies meeting facilities to over two hundred community organizations and businesses throughout the year and also serves as the State’s second largest site for blood donations.
The J. Walter Cameron Center is located in the heart of Wailuku. It houses and supports nonprofit agencies that provide assistance in health and social services to Maui’s community. Current resident agencies’ Ohana include A Keiki’s Dream, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, ARC of Maui County, Best Buddies, Consumer Credit Counseling Service,Community Mental Health, Easter Seals Hawaii, Heritage Hall, Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Imua Family Services, Ka Lima O Maui, MEO Kahi Kamali`i Infant-Toddler Center, Mediation Services of Maui, Inc., Mental Health Association and PATCH.
