Chronicling a formidable and sacred journey to Mt. Kailash, Tibet, Journey to the Center of the Universe, a fundraiser and film screening presented by The Maui Dharma Center, takes place on Sat. Aug. 4, 2018 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center at 7:00 p.m. in the McCoy Studio Theater.

Known in Eastern traditions as The Precious Snow Mountain, the Center of the Universe, the Navel of the World, and the Cosmic Pillar that unites Heaven and Earth, Mt. Kailash’s nearly 22,000 foot summit has never been reached by any human being, but its 33-mile sacred pilgrimage path has beckoned the faithful for centuries.

Photos taken by the venerable Lama Gyaltsen and Pilgrimage Friends during their transcendent adventure to Mt. Kailash will be showcased at the event. In addition, a screening of Kailash-Return to Tibet, a movie by Emmy-award winning filmmaker, Dr. Tom Vendetti will be screened.

Tickets are $30 (plus applicable fees) and can be purchased at the MACC box office by calling (808) 242-SHOW or in person, Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. They can also be purchased online at MauiArts.org.
