Kapena Li Hing Infused Tequila was awarded a gold medal at the Global Spirits Awards held July 10 -13th, 2018 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. The competition featured world-class judges with extensive backgrounds in spirits and mixology. Kapena Tequila was the only infused tequila to receive an award in the competitive tequila category.

Since its 2016 launch in Hawai‘i, Kapena Li Hing Infused Tequila has received accolades from numerous outlets and competitions.

“That Kapena Tequila continues to win these awards is validation that we have created an extremely well-crafted product and that the local “li hing mui” flavor profile stands out in an increasingly crowded tequila market”, says Mike Goto, founder of the Kapena Tequila brand.

Kapena Tequila is the world’s first premium li hing infused tequila and is available in Hawaii and Nevada. The 100% agave tequila is made from Blue Weber agave plants grown in the Los Altos region of Mexico’s Jalisco state. Kapena Tequila is imported by Goto Imports LLC and is distributed by Johnson Brothers of Hawaii and Good Spirits Distributing of Nevada.

“Winning the gold medal at a major spirits competition is a huge accomplishment, especially considering some of the incredible brands that we were competing against. Las Vegas -the 9th Island- is our first mainland market so it’s fitting that we won a gold medal at the Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards,” Goto adds.
