Swell Summary
Outlook through Monday August 27: A small, north-northwest swell is expected to gradually build today, peak late Tuesday, then diminish Wednesday. Choppy surf along east facing shores will gradually increase this week as trade winds strengthen. Most importantly, Hurricane Lane is forecast to pass south and southwest of the islands this week, and will likely deliver increasingly rough surf to south facing shores as the week progresses. Be sure to monitor forecast updates on Lane as it could bring significant impacts later this week.
Surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.

Conditions: Sideshore texture/chop with E winds 15-20mph in the morning shifting ENE 20-25mph in the afternoon.
South

Surf: Knee to waist high SW medium period swell in the morning builds in the afternoon with occasional sets up to chest high.
Conditions: Semi glassy/semi bumpy with NNW winds less than 5mph in the morning shifting WSW 5-10mph in the afternoon.
West

Conditions: Clean with E winds 10-15mph in the morning shifting ENE 15-20mph in the afternoon.
