Category 1 Norman Continues West, Little Change in Strength
Forecasters with the Central Pacific Hurricane Center are monitoring Norman, while Olivia in the Eastern Pacific is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center.
Hurricane Norman continues moving westward at 17 mph with little change in strength. The Category 1 hurricane has sustained winds of 85 mph and was last located about 1200 miles East of Hilo. Norman is expected to turn to the WNW tomorrow and remain a hurricane through Wednesday night.
In the Eastern Pacific, Hurricane Olivia is located about 675 miles SW of the southern tip of Baja California. The system is has 105 mph sustained winds with additional strengthening expected today. Forecasters with the National Hurricane Center say Olivia could become a major hurricane today before undergoing gradual weakening late Wednesday.
