Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Celebrates Girls in Aviation Day, Oct. 13
Blue Hawaiian Helicopters will celebrate Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, with an educational event for Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i at each of its Hawaiian Island helicopter bases.
On Maui, the event will be held at 1 Lelepio Place in Kahului from 4 to 6 p.m.
Event representatives will include Maui Base ManagerJacklyn (Loke) Luna and Pilot Glenda Wild.
At this event, Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to:
- Meet Blue Hawaiian Helicopters’ female pilots, managers, and team members
Explore new careers in aviation from the women of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters
Participate in an open cockpit presentation
View the interior of a state-of-the-art Blue Hawaiian Helicopter
Receive a special commemorative patch
The initiative is in support of Women in Aviation International’s program introducing 8 to 17-year-old girls to aviation and aerospace through various activities and learning experiences.
This year marks the fourth annual GIAD, which is commemorated globally and is estimated to receive participation from 15,000 girls worldwide.
