UPDATE: Waterline Break Affects Traffic on Front Street

The repairs have been completed and Front Street is now open.

Personnel from the Maui Department of Water Supply are on their way to Front Street in Lahaina to fix a waterline break.

Department officials say a portion of the road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. today, Monday, Nov. 19, 2018. The closure of Front Street will extend from Kenui Street to Baker Street. Motorists are advised to follow traffic control and use an alternate route.

In addition, customers in the area will be without water service during the repair job.

Customers may want to flush their waterlines for a short time this afternoon to ensure that no sediment has accumulated in their waterlines during the repair. Customers are asked to call the 24-hour service line (270-7633) only if a water emergency occurs.
