Roadwork to Close Portion of Makawao Ave

Roadwork will result in the closure of a portion of Makawao Avenue for several days.

County officials say Makawao Avenue from the Kokomo Road intersection to Piʻiholo Road will be closed several days due to road reconstruction work.

Officials with the county’s Department of Public Works say closures are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and include the following days:

• Saturday, Dec. 22, to Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018;
• Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018; and
• Wednesday, Jan. 2, through Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.

Motorists should exercise caution and follow appropriate detour routes, as noted on roadway message boards.
