13 Unclaimed Remains in Maui Forensic Facility

The Maui Police Department reports that its forensic facility currently has 13 unclaimed remains.

Department officials said they hope to get in touch with family members of the deceased.

The remains include individuals whose date of death ranges from September 2016 to December 2018.

Not all of the identities have been confirmed.

Maui police say if they are not able to locate any next of kin within a reasonable amount of time, the remains will be submitted for disposition and the bodies will remain at the facility until the mortuary gets cremation approval from MedQuest.

Unclaimed remains include the following:

Timoney, Daniel (DOD: Aug. 14, 2018)
Height: 5′ 5″; Weight: 99 lbs; Eyes: opaque; Hair: mustache, beard, and hair are gray and grown.
Identifying marks and scars: None.

Ernst, Kevin (DOD: July 7, 2018)
Height: 6’ 2”; Weight: 163 lbs.; Eye color: Brown; Hair: Straight brown hair measures up to 2 inches over the crown.
Identifying marks and scars: No tattoos. On the anterior and lateral aspects of the left thigh are linear scars (6 inches and 1-1/2 inch). There is a 2 x 1-1/2 inch faint gray scar on the lateral aspect of the left hip. There is a 1 x ½ inch irregular gray scar on the superior aspect of the left buttock and a 1 x ½ inch irregular gray scar on the inferior aspect of the left buttock. There is a ½ x ½ inch irregular gray scar on the inferior aspect of the right buttock. There is a 2 x 1 inch hypopigmented scar below the left knee.

Woomer, Ward (DOD: Sept. 13, 2018)
Height: 5’ 8”; Weight: 199 lbs; Eye color: Gray; Hair: Brown and gray with male pattern baldness and is up to 3 inches long in the back.
Identifying marks and scars: There is a 10 inch, vertically oriented, linear scar overlying the sternum (history of coronary artery bypass graft). No tattoos

Carrig, Michael (DOD: Sept. 19, 2018)
Height: 5’ 8”; Weight: 224 lbs.; Eye color: Brown; Hair: Wavy, gray hair measures up to 1 inch long over the crown.
Identifying marks and scars: None.

Ferreira, William (DOD: Sept. 28, 2018)
Height: 5’ 7”; Weight: 138 lbs; Eye color: Brown; Hair: Curly, brown hair is up to 10 inches long in the back.
Identifying marks and scars: Multiple tattoos: “Gloria” on the left side of the chest; “Bill” on the right side of the chest, a cannabis plant on the upper back; a dove on the mid back, Bambi on the lower back, and “Hawaii”, “Ronald” and other illegible names on the left arm.

James, Deanna (DOD: Oct. 7, 2018)
Height: 5’ 4”; Weight: 181 lbs; Eye color: Partially opaque due to thermal changes; Hair: Brown

Whaley, Dorian (DOD: Oct. 26, 2018)
Height: 5’ 10”; Weight: 110 lbs; Eye color: Indeterminate due to putrefactive changes; Hair: Gray hair with male pattern baldness and is up to 6 inches long in the back.

Identifying marks and scars: Tattoo of a peacock on the mid chest, tribal-type tattoo on the right shoulder.

Height: 5’10”; Weight: 135 lbs.; Eyes: cloudy; body found decomposed in pond in Kīpahulu; Hair: Scalp is shaved bald.

Height: 5’8″; Weight: 135 lbs.; Eyes: Indeterminate; body found partially decomposed; Hair: Wavy, red-brown hair.
Identifying marks and scars:  Multiple tattoos as follows: Egyptian symbols and skulls on the right arm; face of a bearded man on the left arm; a demon face on the right side of the chest; Grim Reaper and the word “Wrath” on the abdomen; a mushroom on the right lower leg; skull with flames on the left lower leg.

Height: 5’10”; Weight: 125 lbs.; Eyes: Brown; Hair: Thin, white with male pattern balding.

Stenbeck, Jennifer (DOD Sept. 14, 2016)
Height: 5’6″; Weight: 120 lbs.; Eyes: Blue-gray; Hair: Red-brown to blonde.
Identifying marks and scars: Asian-style lettering on the upper back at the mid-line; a heart with “Mark” and “Noah” on the lateral aspect of the right arm; “I Love You Mark” on the lateral aspect of the left hip; a lady sitting on a crescent moon on the lateral aspect of the left lower leg; a peace sign on the right ankle.
