Water Conservation Urged.

Water customers in West Maui from Puamana to Kapalua are being asked to conserve water while County personnel repair a clarifier unit at the Lahaina Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The advisory was issued by officials with the Maui Department of Water Supply and the Department of Environmental Management.

During this time, wastewater processing is substantially reduced; therefore, water usage should be limited to necessary purposes only.

The advisory takes effect immediately and remains in place until April 16, 2019; however, it does not apply to irrigation or other water usage that does not flow to the wastewater treatment facility.

Customers with questions may contact Engineer Juan Rivera at the Department of Environmental Management during normal business hours at (808) 270-7268.
