Maui Historical Society Hula Drama, May 5
The Maui Historical Society and the County of Maui Office of Economic Development presents a hula drama at the Baldwin High School auditorium on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 12 to 5 p.m.
E Ola! E Lawe i Ke Aʻo A Mālama A E ʻOi Maui Ka Naʻauao or “he who takes his teachings and applies them increases his knowledge” is a hula drama created and shared by Kula Kaiapuni O Pāʻia to benefit Kula Kaiapuni O Maui. The story is based on the epic battle of ʻAiʻai, the son of Kuʻulakai, and Koʻona, a supernatural eel.
Festivities will start in the open area at 12 p.m., doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the show starts at 1 p.m. Local food, arts and crafts and entertainment will be available.
Tickets are available for purchase through families of Kula Kaiapuni O Pāʻia and ticket outlets at Native Intelligence and Hale Hōʻikeʻike at the Bailey House. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for keiki ages 7 to 12 and kūpuna; and keiki ages six and under get in free.
