UPDATE: Firefighters Extinguish Smoking Stump Off Honoapiʻilani

Update: 7:35 p.m. 9.8.2019

Reports of a brush fire on Honoapiʻilani Highway this afternoon turned out to be a single smoking stump.

According to an announcement from the Maui County Fire Department, Engine 10 and Engine 1 made checks in the area, and were only able to find the smoking tree well within brush areas that were blackened from recent fires.
