Local Flavors Chef Demonstrations at Upcountry Fair

Slow Food Maui and Whole Foods Market Maui are partnering to present “Local Flavors,” a series of chef demonstrations utilizing locally grown produce.  The presentation will be part of the 31st Annual Upcountry Fair on Saturday, June 11, 2011.

Featured chefs will showcase their flavorful dishes between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. at the Oskie Rice Field & Arena in Makawao.  The schedule of chef events include:

  • 9:30 am – Chef Jana McMahon – local fruits
  • 10:30 am – Chef Susan “Teton” Campbell – local vegetables
  • 11:30 am – Chef Belinda Boling – Kumu Farm corn

31st Annual Upcountry Ag & Farm Fair is sponsored by the County of Maui Office of Economic Development; Tri-Isle Resource, Conservation and Development Council; Maui County Farm Bureau; Maui Cattle Company; Haleakala Ranch; Maui 4-H Livestock Association; Whole Foods Market; Maui Soda & Ice Works, Ltd and Roselani Ice Cream.
