Maui ʻUkulele Festival to “Highlight Hawaiʻi’s Favorite Instrument”

Island-style music enthusiasts are being invited to this yearʻs 14th annual Maui ʻUkulele Festival. 

The free event will feature a diverse line-up of some of Hawaiʻiʻs highly-acclaimed musicians, including Paula Fuga, Kamakakehau Fernandez, and Ahumanu. 

Attendees can bring low-backed beach chairs or blankets and relax on the lawn at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center to enjoy the afternoon of performances. 

The event will also feature giveaways from Kamaka ʻUkulele, Bounty Music, and other instrument stores. Food vendors from across the island, including Threeʻs Bar & Grill, will be available for attendees. No outside food, beverages, or coolers are allowed. 

In addition, the festival will kick off with free ʻukulele lessons for all ages with Roy Sakuma on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the McCoy Studio Theatre. 

Participants are expected to bring their own ʻukulele. No registration is required. 

The main festival will be held on Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.
