Maui Police Search for Missing Man on Moloka‘i

Officers from the Maui Police Department’s Molokaʻi Patrol Division are looking for Carl Steffler, a 66-year-old Caucasian male who has gone missing.

Steffler was last seen swimming away from the Kaunakakai pier on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019. Police say an investigation has found that Steffler has “exhibited suicidal ideations” in the past.

Search efforts are being conducted by Maui Police, Maui Fire Department, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources and the US Coast Guard.

Steffler is described as being 6’2” tall, weighing approximately 210 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.
