Rescued From “Hoarding Situation,” Displaced Dogs in Need of New Homes

The Maui Humane Society is looking to find homes for 24 dogs that were recently impounded from a home in East Maui last month.

About five months ago, MHS started receiving multiple reports about a property with several dogs being kept in what was described as “unsafe and inhumane conditions.”

Maui Humane Enforcement Officers rescued a total of 47 dogs from the property, including 24 that were impounded in just the past month, according to the organization.

The dogs, which the MHS has nicknamed “The Wilsons” have spent the majority of their lives on a chain or in a cage, according to the Humane Society.

“Many have made swift, significant progress in the loving hands of Maui Humane Society’s staff and volunteers,” a MHS newsletter update stated. “Now that their personalities are truly starting to shine, they’re ready to capture your hearts just like they’ve captured ours.”

Those interested in giving one or more of these pups a happy home are invited to come down to the shelter to meet the Wilsons today.
