Maui Mayor Michael Victorino will host a special Christmas celebration beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 6 on the front lawn of the Kalana O Maui Building in Wailuku.

The event is free and open to the public. It will feature a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and a mini-parade at approximately 5:45 p.m. down South High and Main streets from the County Building to First Friday on Market Street.

“This will be a family-friendly, good-fun event to kick off the Christmas holidays,” Mayor Victorino said. “It will be a bit nostalgic as well, with old-time paper bags with an apple, orange and candy for the young and young at heart.”

The St. Anthony School concert band is scheduled to play Christmas carols. The parade will feature the Baldwin High School cheerleading squad and Santa Claus.
