The lighting of the Banyan Tree in Lahaina will not happen on Saturday as planned, according to communication from the Lahaina Town Action Committee.

In an email communication, the LAC’s Nicole Balangue said, “Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no Banyan Tree Lighting Ceremony for tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 in Lahaina’s Banyan Tree Park. However, we are still working towards a solution.”

In a social media post issued today, the organization’s Facebook page had a statement as well saying, LAC will still be decorating Lahaina town with its annual hanging of Christmas Wreaths along Front Street from Dec. 6 to 8, 2019.

Details surrounding the postponement were not available.  The post stated, “We truly appreciate the community calls and support we’ve received thus far. We are still working towards a solution.”
