UH Maui’s Leis Family Class Act Named Best in The State
A list of top 10 Diners in Hawai’i dubbed the Leis Family Class Act Restaurant at the University of Hawai’i Maui College as the No. 1 Best Overall on the island and in the state, UH News recently announced.
The ranking was published on OpenTable, an online restaurants-reservation company.
According to OpenTable’s website, the ratings are determined from 400,000 diner reviews posted over a month.
Based on 390 reviews posted on the reservations hub, Leis Family Class Act earned a 4.9 out of five stars.
Students at UH Maui’s Culinary Arts Program are responsible for all of the cooking and service at the restaurant under the direction of chief instructor Tom Lelli and dining room lecturer Mark Malone.
“Our students give 110 percent every single semester. We’re very proud of them and we’re so happy they have the opportunity to enjoy this honor,” Lelli told UH News.
The restaurant serves lunch every Wednesday and Friday while classes are in session.
