Maui Crime Jan. 26- Feb. 1: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 11 burglaries, 6 vehicle thefts and 7 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1, 2020.

Burglaries were up 10 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported over the seven day period. Vehicle thefts decreased 40 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins increased 17 percent from the previous week, when 6 incidents were reported.

11 Burglaries

Ha’ikū:

  • Saturday, Feb. 1, 6:59 p.m.: 810 Haʻikū Rd., Haʻikū at Haʻikū Cannery at Precision Woodworks. Residential, forced entry.

Kāʻanapali: 

  • Monday, Jan. 27, 11:38 a.m.: 106 Kāʻanapali Shores Pl., Kāʻanapali at Maui Kai Condos. Residential, unlawful entry.
  • Thursday, Jan. 30, 8:55 a.m.: 2780 Kekaʻa Dr., Kāʻanapali at Royal Lahaina Resort. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kīhei: 

  • Tuesday, Jan. 28, 5:41 a.m.: 1280 S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Azeka Makai. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28, 5:56 a.m.: 1280 S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Azeka Makai. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28, 7:38 a.m.: 145 N Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Sugar Beach Resort. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 29, 8:41 a.m.: 75 Alanui Ke Alii, Kīhei at Worldmark. Non-residential, forced entry.

Pukalani: 

  • Wednesday, Jan. 29, 12:32 p.m.: 2800 Block of Old Haleakala Highway, Pukalani. Residential, unlawful entry.

Wailuku: 

  • Monday, Jan. 27, 8:05 a.m.: ʻĪao Valley State Park Road, Wailuku at ʻĪao Valley State Park. Non-residential, forced entry.
