6 to 9 Foot Surf for East Shores of Maui and Moloka‘i

A high surf advisory is in effect for the East facing shores of Maui and Molokaʻi until 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020.

The National Weather Service says surf will be 6 to 9 feet along affect shores, with large breaking waves.

According to the NWS forecast, strong trade winds will produce high surf along east facing shores through Friday evening.

The public can expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents, making swimming difficult and dangerous.
