Glenn Gushiken, 66 of Wailuku, Maui had passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020. He was born in Waimea, Kauaʻi on Feb. 10, 1953 to the late Hajime Gushiken and Gaelic Kalua Akina.Although he is no longer here, he will continue to live in the hearts of his wife, Debra Ann Gushiken; sons, Glenn “Ika” Gushiken, Steven Gushiken; daughters, Iris Gushiken, Malie Sumida, Kimi Hamada; siblings, Grace Cooper, Elton Gushiken; 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Hajime Gushiken and Gaelic Kalua Akina; son, Dale Roy Gushiken and brother, Mason Gushiken.Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at Norman’s Mortuary from 9 a.m. with prayer service to begin at 10 a.m.
June 25, 1925 – February 4, 2020
Lucille Maria Machabee-Lapinskas, 94, of Kīhei, Maui, passed away on Feb. 4, 2020 at her residence. She was born on June 25, 1925 in Ludlow, Massachusetts.She was a retired supervisor for housekeeping at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, MA.Lucille is survived by her children; Lawrence Machabee (Sonia), Lorraine Eurto (Ray), and Loralee Machabee (Tim); 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter. She is predeceased by her daughters; Linda Goldberg and Lois Boucher.
Services will be held at Ludlow Funeral home in Ludlow, MA. on Friday April 17, 2020 at 1 p.m.
August 19, 1976 – February 6, 2020
Jonalyn Agtunong Sagisi, 43 of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, passed away in love on Thursday, February 6, 2020 under the nurturing care of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. She was born in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaiʻi, to Bibiano and Rosita Sagisi on Aug. 19, 1976. Jonalyn is survived by her son, Michael Bennett Honest; parents, Bibiano and Rosita Sagisi; sister, Ruth (Rudy) Viloria; niece, Jazmyne Faith Viloria; nephew, Mason James Viloria, including many extended family members and friends.Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at King’s Cathedral in Kahului. Viewing is at 9 a.m with services to begin at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park (Upper) in Wailuku at 2 p.m.
December 10, 1949 – February 6, 2020
Bruce Harold Olsten, 70 of Wailuku, Maui passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in DeKalb, Illinois to the late Harold Gustaf & Shirley Wessman Olsten. The Olsten family moved to Maui in October 1967 with Bruce finishing his senior year at Baldwin High School (Class of 1968). He attended UH Mānoa, returned to Maui and worked in the hotel industry at the Lahaina Travel Lodge, Royal Lahaina and Hyatt Regency hotels. In 1990, he went to work with his dad, Harold “Oly” Olsten at T-Shirt Factory, the family business, and retired in 2008. Bruce was known for his quick wit, his optimism and his kind and loving spirit. He had a lifelong passion for sailing and remained a dedicated, supportive and dear friend to many in the sailing community. Bruce is survived by his wife, Lizbeth “Gigi” Olsten; daughter, Jennifer Olsten (Leslie Vida); son, Jonathan (Charlotte) Olsten; brothers, Richard and David Olsten; grandchildren, Kahiau, Anuhea, No’eau Vida and Seth Belokopitsky. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins here in Hawaii and on the mainland.Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020 at Norman’s Mortuary from 8-9:00 a.m. Public Visitation 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with services to begin at 10 a.m. Scattering of ashes will be held on Saturday Feb. 22, 2020.

Elena “Dioning” Gazmen Sana, 90 of Lahaina, Maui had passed away on Feb. 9, 2020 in San Jose, California. She was born Cabugao, I. Sur, Philippines on July 31, 1929 to the late Jose Gazmen and Florencia Sivila.She was predeceased by her husband, Arsenio Garcia Sana; son, Mario Sana; parents, Jose and Florencia Gazmen; brothers, Salustiano, Frank, Rodolfo Sr. and sister, Francisca Gazmen.She is survived by children, Bernardo (Cristeta) Sana, Dinia Sana (Rick) Gagarin Sr., Nancy Sana (Gil) Acuña, Nestor (Emily) Sana, Roger Sana, Digna (Petr) Slavetinsky, Rafael Sana; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina from 5 p.m. with Mass to begin at 7 p.m. Visitation to continue on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku from 9 a.m. with service to begin at 10 a.m. Burial is to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park Cemetery in Haʻikū at 12:30 p.m.
February 23, 1942 – February 14, 2020
Solomon Kaauamo Jr, 77, of Pauwalu, Maui passed on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on February 24, 1942 in Hana to Solomon and Cecilia Kaauamo of Wailuanui, Maui. He was a retired Supervisor for the County of Maui-Hāna Highway division and a dedicated Kalo Farmer.Solomon is survived by his Wife, Hannah Kuulei Sheldon Kaauamo; Daughters; Debbie (Jon) Dancil, Cindy (Jeremiah) Naone, Darlene (Tre) Franzen, La’salle Noelani Kaauamo, Michele (Rendell) Andrion and Son; Robert “Bobby” Ambrose; 16 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. Siblings; Christine Seto, Cecilia Haugan, Emily (Kamalana) Kalalau, Pauline Sinenci, Jeanette Kaauamo, Herman (Lynette) Kaauamo, James Kaauamo Jr, and Radford Kaauamo along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.. Solomon is Predeceased by his parents, Son; Solomon “Kolomona” Kaauamo III. Siblings; Elizabeth Azeka, Michael Kaauamo, Mary Ann Ching, James “Kamaka” Kaauamo, Samuel “Ekela” Kaauamo and Hanai son Tau-a Pahukoa.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Ballard Family Mortuary with a Prayer service to follow.The family requests no floral Wreaths. Leis are welcome.
