Maui Crime Feb. 16 – Feb. 22: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 8 burglaries, 6 vehicle thefts and 10 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Feb. 16 to Feb. 22, 2020.

Burglaries were down 47 percent from the week before when 15 incidents were reported over the seven day period. Vehicle thefts decreased 40 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins increased 100 percent from the previous week, when 5 incidents were reported.

8 Burglaries

Kapalua: 

  • Thursday, Feb. 20, 11:28 a.m.: 2000 Village Rd., Kapalua at Kapalua Village Center. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Kīhei: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 18, 10:51 a.m.: 115 E Lipoa St., Kīhei at Kīhei Self Storage. Non-residential, forced entry.

Makawao: 

  • Wednesday, Feb. 19, 8:32 a.m.: 3681 Baldwin Ave., Makawao. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Saturday, Feb. 22, 7:22 a.m.: 2600 Block of Olinda Road, Makawao. Residential, unlawful entry.

  • Thursday, Feb. 20, 8:19 a.m.: 4007 Lower Honoapiʻilani Rd., Nāpili at Mahinahina Beach Condos. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Thursday, Feb. 20, 8:31 a.m.: 3723 Lower Honoapiʻilani Rd., Nāpili at Nohonani Condominium. Non-residential, forced entry.

Pāʻia: 

  • Sunday, Feb. 16, 6:38 a.m.: 115 Hāna Hwy., Pāʻia at Pāʻia Bay Coffee Bar. Non-residential, forced entry.

Wailuku: 

  • Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1:11 a.m.: 2200 Block of Vineyard Street, Wailuku. Residential, unlawful entry.

  • Monday, Feb. 17, 8:16 a.m.: 1-100 Kono Place, Kahului. Black, white Honda dirt bike.
  • Thursday, Feb. 20, 3:46 p.m.: 800 Block of W Mokuea Place, Kahului. Jeep, silver.

Kīhei: 

  • Sunday, Feb. 16, 5:14 p.m.: N Kīhei Road/S Kīhei Road, Kīhei. Kia, white.
  • Monday, Feb. 17, 8:44 p.m.: 2980 S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Sarentos. Black moped.
