Maui Crime March 1 – March 7: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 12 burglaries, 8 vehicle thefts and 8 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from March 1 to March 7, 2020.

Burglaries were up 50 percent from the week before, when 8 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts increased 14 percent from the week before when 7 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins decreased  percent from the previous week, when 10 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

12 Burglaries

Haʻikū: 

  • Wednesday, March 4, 7:32 a.m.: 1500 Block of Haʻikū Road, Haʻikū. Residential, unlawful entry

Hoʻolehua: 

  • Sunday, March 1, 8:02 a.m.: 2400 Block of Lihi Pali Avenue, Hoʻolehua. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului: 

  • Monday, March 2, 7:28 a.m.: 2000 Maui Veterans Hwy., Kahului at Central Maui Baseyard. Non-residential, forced entry. 
  • Monday, March 2, 11:24 a.m.: 410 Hina Ave., Kahului at Kahului School. Non-residential, unlawful entry. 
  • Friday, March 6, 3:28 p.m.: 700 Block of Lalani Circle, Kahului. Residential, unlawful entry. 

Kīhei: 

  • Sunday, March 1, 11:13 p.m.: 100 Block of Keonekai Road, Kīhei. Residential, attempted entry. 
  • Thursday, March 5, 6:25 a.m.: 2500 Block of S Kīhei Road, Kīhei. Non-residential, forced entry. 

Maʻalaea: 

  • Saturday, March 7, 11:04 a.m.: 80 Maʻalaea Rd., Maʻalaea at Maui Golf and Sports Park. Non-residential, forced entry. 

Pāʻia: 

  • Sunday, March 1, 7:01 a.m.: 2100 Block of Hāna Highway, Pāʻia. Residential, forced entry. 
  • Thursday, March 5, 6:06 a.m.: 100 Block of Hāna Highway, Pāʻia. Non-residential, forced entry. 

Wailuku: 

  • Sunday, March 1, 11:44 a.m.: 355 S High st., Wailuku at Wailuku Elementary School. Non-residential, unlawful entry. 
  • Thursday, March 5, 10:31 a.m.: 800 Block of Kolu Street, Wailuku. Non-residential, forced entry.
