Maui Food Bank

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, food banks nationwide are facing an unprecedented demand for resources. To help fill the demand locally, Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate has donated $5,000 to the Maui Food Bank so it can continue to provide hunger relief to residents in need.

“The Maui Food Bank needs our support now more than ever,” said Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate co-owner Tom Tezak, who serves on the Maui Food Bank’s board of directors along with Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate Realtor-Broker Karin Carlson.

“A lot of people in our world—our friends, family members and neighbors—need help. And they’ll continue to need help in the weeks to come.”

Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate actively contributes to the Windermere Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports low-income and homeless families in communities nationwide. Since 1989, the Foundation has raised more than $40 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, food, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services. A portion of the Wailea Realty Corp. team’s real estate sales is allocated to the Windermere Foundation for the Maui community.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Windermere Foundation pledged to match donations made by its 300-plus offices to local food banks through its “Neighbors in Need” program. Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate’s donation to the Maui Food Bank fully utilizes the “Neighbors in Need” dollar match from the Windermere Foundation.

“We are so grateful for the support shown to us from Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate, especially during this crucial time when COVID-19 has resulted in thousands of people in our island ‘ohana being laid off,” said Richard Yust, executive director of the Maui Food Bank.

“Wailea Realty Corp. has always been committed to serving and supporting our community,” said Wailea Realty Corp. + Windermere Real Estate co-owner Brad MacArthur. “The need has never been greater, so we really encourage everyone to get involved and help. We wanted to set an example, and by doing this, we hope we inspire others to give.”
