Outdoor Basketball Court at Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center Complex to Close for Improvements, Feb. 22

The outdoor basketball court at the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center Complex will close for improvements starting Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. Central Construction is the contractor for the project and expects construction work to continue until early May.

The Department of Parks and Recreation advises the public to stay away from construction areas as a safety precaution.

Project highlights include asphalt and concrete repair, acrylic resurfacing, striping of basketball courts, removal and replacement of existing backboards, posts and rims, removal of overgrown vegetation and tree roots and new ADA accessible walkways.

The outdoor basketball court at Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center Complex is located just below the Upcountry Skatepark at 91 Pukalani Street.
