3 MAUI OFFICERS PROMOTED TO SERGEANT
Three officers with the Maui Police Department were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.The officers are Ryan Rodrigues, Brian Abe and Lawrence Pagaduan.
Sgt. Rodrigues has been with the department for nearly 19 years.Since his hire date on July 5, 1990, Rodrigues has served in assignments in the Wailuku and Molokai Patrol Districts. Also, while assigned to the Wailuku Patrol District, he was assigned to the Crime Reduction Unit, Community Policing Unit and Highway Incident Response Team.He’s currently serving in the Plans and Training Section, since 2002. In his current assignment Rodrigues assists with the facilitation and coordination for Recruit training. He’s also a Firearms, Physical Fitness and Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor. Rogrigues is married and has three children.
Sgt. Abe is a 14 year veteran of the Maui Police Department. Since his hire date on January 4, 1995, Abe served assignments in the Lahaina, Wailuku and the Kihei Patrol Districts.He also served as a School Resource Officer and Vice Division, Gambling & Morals Officer. Abe is married with 2 children.
Sgt, Pagaduan will mark 14 years with the department in June.His assignment has been with the Wailuku Patrol District. He’s also a firearms instructor and an instructor with the IT Project, where he assisted with the deployment of the Mobile Data Terminals and the Field Reporting System. Pagaduan is married with three children—two sons and a daughter.
All promotions take effect on Monday, March 16, 2009.
