Badge Pinning Ceremony Held for New Maui Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief
A badge-pinning ceremony was held Thursday at the Kahului Fire Station for Maui’s new Fire Chief Brad Ventura and Deputy Fire Chief Gavin Fujioka.
“This is a proud moment for many of us, to see the Maui Fire Department under the strong, capable leadership of Fire Chief Brad Ventura and Deputy Fire Chief Gavin Fujioka,” said Mayor Victorino. “I ask everyone to support them, because leadership can be difficult at times.
“I believe that Brad and Gavin’s willingness to accept leadership, and all that goes along with it, speaks highly of their character, and why the future looks so bright for the Maui Fire Department,” said Mayor Victorino.
Ventura fills the spot created by the retirement of Maui Fire Chief David Thyne in June.
