Six People Displaced by Structure Fire in Pukalani, Maui

A structure fire at a home in Pukalani is now under control, but firefighters remain on scene where they are conducting mop-up operations.

The fire was reported at 12:26 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at the 2700 block of Akalani Loop.

Once on scene, fire crews worked to ensure that all occupants were out of the structure and accounted for.

Fire officials say three adults and three juveniles were displaced by the fire and the Red Cross was called to provide assistance.

The fire was brought under control at approximately 1:20 p.m.

Crews responding to the incident include Engine 5, Engine 13, Hazmat 10, Rescue 10, Battalion Chief 1.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials say the structure has major fire and smoke damage throughout the residence. A dollar loss estimate is not yet available.
