Calling All Artists for the 2022 Lahaina Poster Contest, First Prize is $3,000

“Village by the Sea,” a watercolor by Lahaina artist, Jim Kingwell, was chosen as the official 2021 Lahaina Poster image by Juror and esteemed artist, George Allan from a field of 36 entries.

Entry forms for the 34th Lahaina Poster Contest are now available online, with the first place winner to be awarded a $3,000 prize.

The deadline and drop off of entries is Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Village Gallery, located at 120 Dickenson St. in Lahaina.

The Lahaina Poster Contest Exhibit will be held Friday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Dec. 3, at Village Gallery.

The poster contest winner will be announced at the opening reception of the exhibit on Friday, Nov. 12.

In addition to the $3,000 first place prize, Lahaina Arts Society will select an additional entry to receive a $400 award. Renowned local artist George Allen will serve as juror.

The criteria states that the poster contest entry must be a recognizable scene of Lahaina.

The Lahaina Poster, chosen annually, is the official poster for the town of Lahaina.

Proceeds from poster sales are used to promote historic Lahaina Town.

The poster contest and exhibit will be hosted by Village Galleries, Lahaina Arts Society and Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
