The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management hosts a White Goods Recycling Event for residents of Hāna, from 8 am to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 to Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Hāna Landfill on Waikoloa Road.

Service is first come, first served and appointments are not required.

Residents may drop off only refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units, water coolers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges/stoves, water heaters, microwaves, automotive batteries, propane tanks and up to five automotive tires per household. This service is available to residents only; no business drop-offs will be accepted. Unacceptable loads and items will be turned away. Collection will continue until all containers have been filled, so the event may end earlier than scheduled.

The County will refuse loads of loose scrap metal and electronics. Another drop-off event for scrap metal is tentatively slated during the first quarter of 2022.

Residents are asked to help to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing masks and to remain in their vehicles until staff has completed a check-in and recyclables are unloaded.

For more information, please call the County Abandoned Vehicles & Metals Hotline at 808-270-6102.
