Westin Maui Wins Business Leadership Award

Today, the Pacific Business News reported the 10th Annual Business Leadership Hawaii Award winners as they were presented at a dinner which took place at the Sheraton Waikiki last night.
The Business Leadership Hawaii program seeks to honor excellence in Hawaii’s businesses throughout the state. Several Maui companies were finalists, and one walked away with the prestigious Community Spirit Award. The Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali won the BLH Community Spirit award for its corporate community service programs on Maui.

Imua Family Services was among the finalists for The Cades Schutte Nonprofit Leadership award, which eventually went to Housing Solutions, a nonprofit developer and manager of affordable and transitional housing.
Maui-based Pacific Defense Solutions, located in the Maui Research and Technology Park, was among the finalists for the 2011 Best in Business award for companies with up to 40 full-time employees. The award went to Oahu-based Wilson Homecare, a home health-care agency founded by Shelley Wilson.
The 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award went to Outrigger Enterprises Group, chairman emeritus, Dr. Richard Kelley. John Henry Felix, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the Hawaii Medical Assurance Association, is this year’s American Savings Bank Business Leader of the Year.
