Critical incident stress management workshop offered as complimentary service

The Lehua Foundation is offering three workshops on Critical Incident Stress Management for those who remained behind during the recent wildfires on Maui.

The workshops are designed to help with stress and are being offered as a complimentary community service.

Dates are Sept. 6, 13 and 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wailea Healing Center.

The workshops feature special guest speaker Kathy Ollerton, a Maui resident who conducted workshops for two years after the 911 Critical Incident at Ground Zero in New York in 2001.  

Organizers say this is not a substitute for psychotherapy, but rather a “framework” to have immediate human tools to process and manage stress. Any referrals needed for long term psychotherapy will be offered.
