Haleakala Wind Advisory 3/30/09
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a WIND ADVISORY for the HALEAKALA SUMMIT effective UNTIL 10:00 AM TUESDAY. Â A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 MPH are expected.
EFFECTS: Strong high pressure located to the northeast of the State is generating strong and gusty trade winds at the Haleakala Summit. The strong winds are expected to continue through tonight. Winds of 25 to 35 MPH with higher gusts to 40 MPH are expected through tonight.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES:Â WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION. SECURE ANY LOOSE OBJECTS THAT MAY BECOME AIRBORNE OR MOVE THEM INDOORS.
