UH Basketball Returns to Maui: Dec. 18, 2011
By Wendy Osher
The University of Hawai‘i men’s basketball team returns to Maui for a second straight year, this time facing North Carolina A&T in a regular-season Division I game.
Tip off is set for 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the War Memorial Gym in Wailuku.
Last year, the Rainbow Warriors defeated Chicago State at the Lahaina Civic Center. That contest marked UH’s first neighbor island appearance since competing in the 2003 EA Sports Maui Invitational.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be heading back to Maui,” said head coach Gib Arnold. “Last season’s experience was phenomenal for the coaches, players and staff alike. The crowd in Lahaina was fantastic and we expect an even better atmosphere in Wailuku this year.”
Ticket prices for the Dec. 18 game are: $12 for adults; $8 for senior citizens; and $6 for students ages 4 to high school and college students with an ID.
All tickets are general admission and are available at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, 944-2697 and HawaiiAthletics.com.
Tickets are available for sale on Maui until 5 p.m. today at the Pacific Radio Group at 311 Ano Street in Kahului. Call (808) 877-5566 for more information.
All unsold tickets will be available at the door on game day one hour prior to game time.
This will be the second appearance by a UH team in Wailuku this year. The men’s volleyball team defeated Cal Baptist in a regular-season match at the War Memorial Gym in February.
